How to become a moderator

Post by Ally on Fri Oct 22, 2010 6:44 pm

Moderating a forum gives you power and, along with that power, responsibility. Your aim as a moderator is to use your powers for the benefit of the community.

Moderators have the power to:

* Delete posts
* Delete threads
* Move threads to other forums
* Block or Unblock threads

Arrow You have to be at least 18 years old
Arrow Always be active in the forum and always stay friendly
Arrow Get involved in discussions, responding to posts (especially those no one else responds to), and offering your support.
Arrow Monitor your forum for abusive posts, unauthorized spam or advertisements, copyright infringements, any sort of harassment, and any other violations of the forum rules. Send reports to the forum administrator for serious and "repeat" offenders, or questionable posts.
Arrow Provide detailed solutions if you know about problems for the users.
Arrow Don't think you are GOD.
Arrow Bring in new users to play with. (If you are a moderator of 15 users then it's no fun.)
Arrow Think this as your own forum.

NOTE: Only active members can become moderators
